  1. Thanks Mark for your efforts. I was at ML for 18 years WFA for 8 (currently) Finding fundamental consistent analyst that you can count on are few and far between. Doesn’t mean you always have to be right just that you’re playing by the same rules all the time. Which results and being right / wealthier overtime.

    1. Hey, great to see/meet another professional here. As one of the few reasons I do this, so welcome!

Totally agree with what you’re saying too. Hope more folks will catch on to that. I’ve made some great contacts by doing this over the past nine years and hope to keep that rolling. Cheers!

  2. If only we could find the recipe for super cakes! Joking aside though, that message was really informative. Follow the recipe, don’t focus on lost money and stick to your plan.

      1. The mentality of “making your money back” was a big lesson learned for me a few years ago… I made 200% in my portfolio that year and got so greedy, I didn’t pay the IRS tax bill right away. Instead I thought I could keep making money between January and April. It started by losing a little money – but I had to “make back” what I lost and time was ticking to pay tax man in April so I took some risk to make it back – lost that – then took greater risk – lost more – and took even greater risk… all because I was addicted to making 10% a month for 24 straight months and could not accept the reality that I lost money. I had to make back THAT money and get back to my “peak”. As a result, I lost literally everything and I still owe the IRS a ton of money. Building my wealth back up the last couple years but that experience was invaluable. It allowed me to take the loss on HMNY without feeling pressured to make it back. As you said, when it’s gone, it’s gone. Start each position fresh without respect to past performance in other areas. Was a tough lesson but sometimes you have to experience things first hand to learn the rules and be more disciplined.
